POKEMON CARD GB 2 GR Pocket Monsters Game boy Color Game software Nintendo Model

Step into the world of one of gaming's most beloved crossovers with Pokémon Card GB2: GR Dan Sanjou! (Here Comes Team GR!), a Game Boy Color title that bridges the massive worlds of the Pokémon Trading Card Game and Nintendo's handheld RPG franchise. Originally released in Japan by Nintendo, this cartridge-based title lets players explore islands, challenge trainers, and build decks using digital versions of classic Pokémon TCG cards. For collectors who grew up alongside the franchise, or for those tracking down Japan-exclusive Pokémon software, this Game Boy Color release is a meaningful piece of Pokémon history that never received an official Western release.

This listing is for the Japanese Game Boy Color software edition of Pokémon Card GB2, produced by Nintendo. As indicated in the title, this is the original Pocket Monsters branded release intended for the Japanese market, and it is compatible with Game Boy Color hardware. Because this is a Japanese-region cartridge, menus, dialogue, and card text are presented in Japanese, which many collectors actually prefer as it preserves the authentic release experience. Details beyond what is stated here are not claimed — please refer to the product photos for the exact condition and contents included with this particular copy.

Pokémon Card GB2 holds a special place in the wider Pokémon universe. As the sequel to the original Pokémon Trading Card Game for Game Boy Color, it expanded the roster of playable cards, introduced Team Great Rocket (Team GR) as antagonists, and gave TCG fans a portable single-player campaign in an era before mobile gaming. The fact that it stayed exclusive to Japan makes physical copies increasingly sought after by import collectors, TCG historians, and Game Boy Color enthusiasts. Japanese pre-owned Pokémon items in particular are prized for their care of ownership — Japanese collectors are widely known for storing games and cards with attention to preservation, meaning imports from Japan often arrive in better shape than domestic counterparts of the same age.

This is a pre-owned item that has been inspected before listing and will ship directly from Japan. As with any used game software from this era, expect some signs of age and handling — this may include shelf wear, minor scuffs, label aging, or wear to the cartridge and any included packaging or inserts. We do not claim this item to be sealed or in mint condition unless explicitly stated. Please review all photos carefully, as they form part of the condition description. Functionality and included accessories are represented as shown.

For display, this title fits beautifully alongside other Pokémon Game Boy and Game Boy Color software, and it pairs especially well with a collection of original Pokémon TCG booster packs or binders. Japanese-market Pokémon cartridges have a distinct visual identity, with Pocket Monsters branding and Japanese label art that stands apart from the international editions many collectors are already familiar with. Whether you plan to actually load it into a Game Boy Color and play through the Team GR storyline, or simply place it on a shelf as part of a curated Pokémon history display, this release represents a meaningful chapter of the franchise that connected the video game side of Pokémon with its trading card roots.

Sourced and shipped from Japan by HD Toys Store Japan, this Pokémon Card GB2 Game Boy Color software is an authentic import piece for serious Pokémon collectors, retro Nintendo fans, and anyone building out a Japan-exclusive shelf.
