Vocaloid Figures Beyond Miku: GUMI, Kagamine, KAITO Collecti
Share
Hatsune Miku gets all the attention, but if you're a serious Vocaloid collector, you know the real treasures are the non-Miku character figures — GUMI (Megpoid), the Kagamine twins, KAITO, MEIKO, Luka, and the deeper roster.
This guide covers what's available, why these figures sell out faster than Miku's, and how to find them through Japan-based sourcing.
The Vocaloid character lineup (worth collecting)
- Megpoid GUMI — second-most-figured Vocaloid after Miku. Notable: Kotobukiya 1/8 scale, Max Factory Figma, Native creator collaborations
- Kagamine Rin & Len — twin characters, often released as pairs. Frequent Good Smile Company Nendoroid releases plus Max Factory scale figures
- KAITO — male Vocaloid, ice cream icon. Limited figures, mostly Nendoroid and prize figures
- MEIKO — original female adult Vocaloid. Rare figure releases, mostly Nendoroid V3 and Pop Up Parade
- Megurine Luka — bilingual Vocaloid. Strong figure presence, including Max Factory and Wing scale releases
- IA, ONE, Sekai — newer additions, smaller but growing figure catalog
Why non-Miku Vocaloid figures are harder to find
Hatsune Miku gets 10-20× the production volume of any other Vocaloid character. The math is brutal: a typical GUMI 1/8 scale figure might have a 3,000-5,000 unit production run, vs. Miku's 30,000-50,000. The Kagamine twins fall in between (5,000-10,000), and characters like KAITO or MEIKO might only see 1,000-3,000 units per figure.
Combine smaller print runs with passionate small fan bases, and you get figures that:
- Sell out in weeks at retail
- Rarely appear in overseas distribution
- Hold or appreciate in value on the secondary market
- Are the first to disappear from collector estate sales

What to know before buying Vocaloid figures secondhand
- Check the base condition — Vocaloid figures often have intricate transparent bases (musical notes, water effects, stage platforms) that crack or yellow over time
- Hair paint chips are common on Miku and Luka — verify with multiple-angle photos before buying
- Original box and inserts add 20-40% to resale value — keep all packaging
- Authenticity — popular characters (especially Miku) have known knockoffs; verify the box printing quality, joint smoothness, and any included accessories against official manufacturer reference photos
We hand-inspect every figure before shipping and provide multiple condition photos in product listings. Licensed second-hand dealer (古物商許可番号 308942319801, Tokyo Metropolitan Public Safety Commission).
