Latest Madoka Magica Figures & Statues: New Releases Roundup

This guide covers everything you need to know about Madoka Magica figures and statues — from a trusted Japan-based seller that sources domestically and inspects every item before it ships. Whether you are a longtime fan of Gen Urobuchi's landmark 2011 magical girl series or a newer collector hunting down specific character sculpts, this roundup will help you understand what is currently available, what to watch for on the secondary market, and how to make confident purchasing decisions.

A Brief Collector's History of Madoka Magica Merchandise

When Puella Magi Madoka Magica first aired in January 2011, the franchise quickly became one of the most merchandise-intensive anime properties of its era. Aniplex, Good Smile Company, and manufacturer partner Stronger moved quickly to produce scale figures and Nendoroids to meet overwhelming demand. The theatrical films — Beginnings and Eternal in 2012, and the landmark Rebellion Story in 2013 — each triggered waves of new figure releases. It was during the Rebellion era that some of the most sought-after sculpts entered production: the Akuma Homura and Ultimate Madoka 1/8 scale figures produced by Aniplex and Stronger remain, in our experience handling pre-owned Japanese collectibles, consistently among the most requested items from this franchise. A follow-up film, Walpurgisnacht: Rising, announced for 2024 release, has renewed collector interest across the board, making now a particularly active time for this corner of the secondary market.

Restocks & Enduring Classics

Beyond new releases, certain Madoka Magica figures and statues remain in steady demand on the pre-owned market. The Good Smile Company Nendoroid Petit 12-box set, for instance, is a perennial favourite among collectors who want a compact representation of the full cast in one cohesive display piece. Similarly, the 1/8 scale Aniplex releases — particularly those manufactured in collaboration with Stronger — carry a reputation for refined paintwork and solid base construction that holds up well even years after original retail. We have handled hundreds of pre-owned Aniplex scale figures over the years, and the Madoka and Homura sculpts from the Rebellion era consistently arrive in better-than-expected condition when they have been kept in their original boxes away from direct sunlight. These classics are worth watching for restocks, and we update our inventory regularly as new stock becomes available through domestic Japanese channels.

Condition Guidance: What to Look for When Buying Pre-Owned

Buying pre-owned Japanese figures requires a degree of familiarity with how these items age. For Madoka Magica scale figures produced between 2011 and 2015, the primary things to check are: yellowing on white plastic components (particularly visible on Madoka's dress and wing accessories), paint separation at accessory connection points, and box integrity for those who collect in-box. I've seen collectors overlook minor scuffs on bases that are almost entirely hidden once the figure is displayed, while over-paying attention to box condition on pieces they intend to display out of the box anyway — so it pays to be clear on your own priorities before purchasing. Our listings include detailed photographs and written condition notes to help you make that call confidently. If you need additional photos of a specific piece, you are welcome to reach out via our contact page.

What to Watch Next

Upcoming and rumored Madoka Magica figures and statues are worth tracking closely given renewed franchise activity. With Walpurgisnacht: Rising generating significant anticipation in the collector community, major manufacturers are expected to revisit the franchise for new scale and prize figure releases. Historically, Good Smile Company and Aniplex have coordinated figure announcements closely with theatrical release windows — a pattern well established since the 2012 film releases. Collectors who missed the original 2013 Rebellion-era Stronger figures should watch the pre-owned market during these announcement periods, as sellers often list their copies when new alternatives become available, creating a secondary market window that is worth monitoring.

Displaying Your Madoka Magica Figures

Scale figures from this franchise, particularly the 1/8 scale releases, benefit from display environments with consistent low humidity and minimal UV exposure. The white and pastel colour palettes used across most Madoka character sculpts are especially susceptible to yellowing if exposed to direct sunlight over extended periods. A UV-filtering display cabinet works well for long-term preservation. For collectors displaying multiple pieces together, grouping by scale creates a more visually cohesive shelf — the 1/8 scale Aniplex releases pair naturally with each other, while the Nendoroid Petit set works well as a complementary lower-shelf display. Small LED accent lighting inside a display case can highlight the translucent accessory elements found on several of these figures without generating the UV exposure that natural light brings.

Where to Buy Authentic Madoka Magica Figures & Statues from Japan

Buy genuine Madoka Magica figures and statues sourced and inspected in Japan, shipped worldwide with tracking. Purchasing from a seller based inside Japan — rather than a third-party reseller operating outside the country — meaningfully reduces the risk of encountering counterfeit goods, which have proliferated for popular Aniplex and Good Smile releases in particular. Every item we list has been physically inspected by our team in Japan before being photographed and listed, and we ship with protective packaging designed specifically for fragile collectibles.
