Mononoke Kusuriuri ARTFX J 1/8 Scale Figure Yoshinori Ito Toy Toei Kotobukiya

The Mononoke Kusuriuri ARTFX J 1/8 Scale Figure brings one of anime's most enigmatic protagonists into a highly collectible sculpted form. Produced by Kotobukiya under their renowned ARTFX J line and based on the Toei animated series Mononoke, this figure captures the Medicine Seller (Kusuriuri) — the masked, mysterious wanderer who exorcises malevolent spirits by uncovering their Form, Truth, and Reason. For fans of the stylized 2007 series and its distinctive ukiyo-e-inspired aesthetic, this piece has long stood as the definitive scaled representation of the character.

This listing is for the 1/8 scale ARTFX J release sculpted under the direction of Yoshinori Ito, a name familiar to collectors for his elegant, poised character work. As part of Kotobukiya's ARTFX J series, the figure is a pre-assembled, pre-painted statue in 1/8 scale, licensed through Toei. The title identifies the key production credits — Kotobukiya as manufacturer, Toei as the animation rights holder, and Yoshinori Ito tied to the sculpt — but beyond those directly stated details, we leave specifications to the images and the collector's own research rather than making claims the title does not support.

Mononoke itself remains a cult favorite within the broader anime landscape, spun off from the "Bakeneko" arc of Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales and now extending into renewed theatrical projects. Figures of the Medicine Seller have historically been limited in number compared to more mainstream shōnen properties, which is part of what makes any scaled release of Kusuriuri desirable on the secondary market. Pre-owned Japanese-market figures like this one carry additional appeal for international collectors: they come from the original domestic release channel, often with Japanese-language packaging and inserts that cannot be replicated by later overseas distribution.

As a pre-owned item, this figure has been inspected before listing and is shipped directly from Japan. The figure itself is in display condition consistent with a previously owned collectible, and the original box may show shelf wear, minor scuffs, creasing, or storage marks typical of a product that has lived on a collector's shelf. We do not represent this piece as sealed or mint; instead, please rely on the photographs as the most accurate representation of the exact item you will receive. Any notable condition points visible in the images should be considered part of the listing.

On display, the Kusuriuri ARTFX J is a figure that rewards careful placement. The character's layered robes, ornate accessories, and the signature painted mask lend themselves to lighting from multiple angles, and at 1/8 scale the piece has enough presence to anchor a shelf while still fitting comfortably alongside other ARTFX J releases. It pairs naturally with other Toei or horror-adjacent anime pieces, and because Mononoke merchandise has never been produced in the volume of more mainstream series, having the Medicine Seller represented in a serious scaled form gives any collection a distinctive focal point.

Whether you have been hunting this release for your Mononoke shelf, building out a Kotobukiya ARTFX J lineup, or simply appreciate Yoshinori Ito's sculpting work, this pre-owned example offers a chance to add a sought-after character to your collection sourced directly from Japan. Please review all photos carefully, and feel free to reach out with any questions about condition or shipping before purchase.
