kaiju-bangaichi-gojiham-kun-amp-godzilla-2001-hamtaro-figure-premium-bandai
Kaiju Bangaichi Gojiham-kun & Godzilla (2001) Hamtaro Figure Premium Bandai

The Kaiju Bangaichi Gojiham-kun & Godzilla figure set is a wonderfully offbeat crossover collectible that brings together two very different corners of Japanese pop culture: the beloved Hamtaro universe and the legendary world of Toho's Godzilla. Released in 2001, this piece captures the playful "Gojiham-kun" character — a Hamtaro-style hamster dressed as Godzilla — paired alongside the King of the Monsters himself. For collectors who enjoy franchise mashups, kaiju memorabilia, or vintage Hamtaro merchandise, this is one of those quirky, hard-to-find items that perfectly represents the creative spirit of early-2000s Japanese character goods.

Based on the title, this is a 2001 release associated with Premium Bandai, featuring the Gojiham-kun character paired with Godzilla. The "Kaiju Bangaichi" branding refers to the special crossover line that reimagined Hamtaro's hamster cast as iconic Toho monsters, with Gojiham-kun standing in as the Godzilla counterpart. Produced during the height of Hamtaro's international popularity and tied to Toho's long-running Godzilla legacy, the piece is a genuine artifact of a specific moment when both franchises were enjoying strong overlapping fandoms in Japan.

Crossover items like this hold a particular appeal because they bridge two major collector communities. Godzilla fans appreciate the respectful (and adorable) tribute to the character's silhouette and presence, while Hamtaro collectors value the Kaiju Bangaichi line as one of the more inventive expansions of the Ham-Hams concept. Premium Bandai releases from the early 2000s are often produced in limited runs for the Japanese domestic market, which is why they tend to become increasingly difficult to source overseas as years pass. Pre-owned examples shipped directly from Japan are frequently the only reliable way for international collectors to secure pieces like this, especially ones tied to a specific themed subline rather than mainline releases.

This item is pre-owned and has been inspected before listing. It ships from Japan, where it was originally sold. Original packaging, if included, may show signs of shelf wear, aging, storage marks, or minor handling from its years in circulation — this is normal for a release from 2001. We do not represent this item as sealed or mint; please review all photos carefully, as they form part of the item description. Any notable condition points visible in the images should be considered part of the item as received.

On display, the Gojiham-kun & Godzilla pairing has real personality. The contrast between the towering silhouette of Godzilla and the small, costumed hamster version makes for an eye-catching shelf piece that invites conversation, whether it sits in a kaiju lineup, a Hamtaro collection, or a dedicated crossover display. It pairs especially well with other Toho monster figures, vintage Bandai Hamtaro goods, or early-2000s Japanese character merchandise, and it works just as well as a standalone centerpiece for fans who appreciate the humor and craftsmanship behind these themed collaborations.

For collectors building out a vintage Godzilla shelf, deepening a Hamtaro archive, or simply hunting down the more unusual Premium Bandai releases of the era, this 2001 Kaiju Bangaichi set is a meaningful addition. Items from this period rarely resurface in good collector hands, and sourcing them from Japan directly ensures they come from the original market where they were released and cared for.

This pre-owned item has been carefully inspected and is shipped directly from Japan with tracking.

Shipped from Japan with tracking number

Carefully inspected for authenticity and condition

Pre-owned condition documented with detailed photos

Secure packaging for international shipping

Condition: Pre-Owned

This item is also available on eBay.

Browse more Scale Figures from Japan:

View our Scale Figures collection →

🔍 Looking for other Godzilla characters?
Browse the Godzilla series in our catalog and request the item you want.
▶ See the Godzilla catalog

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0724/9284/3077/files/s-l1600_1675d2e8-30fc-4dda-a8cd-a130a34a7715.jpg?v=1791393376
https://hdtoysjapan.com/products/kaiju-bangaichi-gojiham-kun-amp-godzilla-2001-hamtaro-figure-premium-bandai
